Symposium 7: Materials Joining and Additive Manufacturing Technology Symposium Scope Materials Joining, in particular, Additive Manufacturing or 3D-printing technology has become emerging disciplines among research, scientists and engineers around the world. In order to further advance and develop the additive manufacturing technology, it is crucial to understand the process and design, in particular, the science of materials joining as well as the characterization and testing of materials fabricated by welding, joining, additive manufacturing and allied process. The “First Thailand Materials Joining and Additive Manufacturing Symposium” at the 1st MRS-Thailand International Conference is aimed to bring key national and international researchers, scientists, engineers, scholars, and students from academia and industries together to bridge the gap of knowledge and understanding in this challenging topics so that one day everyone can work together in a multi-disciplinary field to apply additive manufacturing technology to design, fabricate, and manufacture small-scale and large-scale structures from broad range of existing and emerging materials that are being researched and developed worldwide to improve quality of life. Ranges of topics related to welding, materials joining, additive manufacturing technology including design, testing, characterization, simulation, and process development are welcome.
